An elderly man asked a question regarding government-mandated “end-of-life” counseling at a packed filled town hall meeting held by Senator Coburn (R) in Muskogee, OK on Aug. 13, 2009. He said that he was an organ transplant patient and that he has already made peace with his maker.
He indicated that at this point in his life, HR 3200 (end-of-life counseling) was a mute point. He wanted to know how much of the proposals within the legislative committees mirrored HR 3200.
HR 3200 (section 1233) has provision mandating end-of-life counseling for the elderly & disabled. It is believed that this encourages euthanasia.
Senator Coburn responded that 3200 mandates federal government to get involvement in the lives of the citizens. And its unconstitutional.
there’s no common sense written in the house bill that it reflects a lack of knowledge of what happens in healthcare. (Note: Senator Coburn is also a physician). And that Government should not destroy what is good, in the name of creating a government-run program.

May 7, 2012 Since blogging is a social activity, I believe that first and foremost a blog should provide something for the readers that they can use or relate to. A blogger should have an idea of the target audience the content would connect with, but keep it understandable for any other people who stumble upon the page. Now, if writer’s-block hits in, it is best to go out there and read, get a lot of input. Your brain will automatically process the new information, whatever it is, through the “what to write” filter, and eventually the inspiration will come. It is important to keep the quality and usefulness of the articles constant. Post like yours help a lot in getting inspiration, especially because you give examples of specific activities that might help. I’m sure you’ve already succeeded in inspiring many of your readers, and obviously me as well, because I usually write shorter comments.Best wishes, Leonard

Very true! Couldn’t have put it better myself. Both concepts are correct, depending on what kind of aircraft you are in. In a tail dragger you are lucky if you can see the horizon at all over the nose initially, and you will be steering down the runway by looking out the sides — you will actually push forward on the stick (or wheel) during the take off roll until the tail lifts off the ground, the aircraft levels and you can see over the nose, then you pull back on the stick.There are two ways to land a tail dragger. The finest is as Rod describes in which you touch down on the main front wheels, then ease the stick back to lower the tail … again the horizon disappears and you are steering again by looking out the sides… or you can just slam it down on all three points at once and just hope you are close to the ground when your lift dissipates. lol. I’ve done both.

This e-mail makes me want to run out and buy the book!!! Well, I’ve read them all, they are great, and clearly I will buy the book anyawy.LOVE your books, your light and dark humor, the fact your characters have faults, opinions and grow and evolve. And having them be a little on the outside of some ideas, makes them more interesting. If I wanted to read about myself, I’d read my journal. If I wanted to be entertained by a goody-two-shoes character, I’d rent a Shirley Temple movie.To be honest, I didn’t find your books until 2001 when a friend recommended them. I locked myself in the house and inhaled your books until I had caught up.Again, Anne P. is in the middle of murder and controversy, and I’m glad she still has opinions and gets right in the muck of life!

There is no mandated end of life counseling.. only a provision put there by Republicans in the Medicare bill to pay for such counseling if someone requests it. This is the very same feature that Newt Gingrich once praised.. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!!
If you are interested in the truth then get a copy of the bill and go to page 425 and read what is says..not what some Republican Insurance shill trying to frighten you says it says..
